Thanks Nikita! We have an Alkaway Ultrastream water filter which gives high quality filtration at a fairly affordable price, including removing almost 80% of fluoride. For higher quality I think you’d need a reverse osmosis system which are much more expensive and apparently waste a lot of water as well. The filters last about a year or more depending on the size of your household and yes admittedly you do need to discard them (you’ve motivated me to investigate their recyclability now :))
I imagine Germany has much better recycling than most other countries so bottled water could be a good option if you live there. I just don’t like buying it even if the bottles do get recycled as it perpetuates demand for disposable plastic, which we really need to move away from if we are to resolve the plastic pollution issue. At least if you buy 2-litre bottles (or more) that would be better than 500ml (single use) I guess.
